Description
Course Description:
Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand. In short bursts, stress can be positive, such as when it helps you avoid danger or meet a deadline. But when stress lasts for a long time, it may harm your health. In this course, CHWs will learn about the negative effects of chronic stress on the body and the importance of managing stress to benefit their health and the community they serve.

4) Self-care skills and strategies
2) Internal and external resources for stress management
3) What is mindfulness?
4) Guided Meditation exercise


Learning Objectives
1) The CHW student will learn about stress management
2) The CHW student will learn to identify individual internal and external resources for stress management
3) The CHW student will understand the importance of self-care skills and strategies
4) The CHW student will learn about the benefits of practicing mindfulness and guided meditation on a regular basis
