Description
This CHW training should define broad public health terms such as diversity, multiculturalism, cultural competence, cultural humility, discrimination, race, gender, ethnicity, ageism and health disparities, specifically differences in incidence, prevalence, mortality and disease burden that exist amongst different populations, and how their role plays an integral part in combating public health issues.

Course Topics:
1. Demonstrate the link between health and human rights
2. Recognize how the social and economic conditions in places where people live, learn, work, and play can affect their health outcomes
3. Explain why health disparities exist amongst different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups
4. Understand how eliminating health disparities can result in individuals and communities achieving their full health potential
5. Appreciate how the importance of a humble and respectful attitude towards individuals of different cultures can help us learn about their lived experiences and help us serve them better.

Learning objectives:
